My story…

From moving to other side of the world at age 16, to teaching myself to code and switching industries, I've always been excited to learn, explore and grow. That excitement now includes a love for public speaking and sharing my ideas, experiences and learnings with others.

I aim to be a relatable, warm and authentic speaker, enabling me to connect with my audience and inspire new ideas and confidence.

When I was 16, I moved to France for my final year of high school, barely speaking any French. The growth mindset I developed from this experience led me to have the confidence to teach myself to code, make connections in a new industry, and be offered a graduate role at Xero, all while still studying full time for my law degree.

As a graduate engineer at Xero, I was accepted to speak about green software at an internal company technology conference. I was alongside a group of lead engineers and my talk received some of the most engagement of the conference. Most recently, I spoke about green software at the 2023 Grace Hopper Celebration in Orlando, Florida - the largest women in tech event in the world.

I love inspiring other young people starting out in their careers and especially encouraging and supporting young women entering the tech industry. At Victoria University of Wellington's Women In Tech Conference, 'WiTCon', I shared my story of being a high achiever in academia, but struggling to find my place when I entered the workforce. My story and how I overcame those challenges resonated with many attendees and knowing I was helping grow the confidence of women in tech was extremely fulfilling.

With so many experiences left to live, I am always growing, learning and trying new things and I can't wait to see where life takes me next.
